HISTORICAL PLACES OF MADINA

Madina is the 2nd holiest place in history of Islam. Madina is located in hejaz, a city of Saudi Arabia. Madina means radiant city. Madina has a great importance in history Our Prophet (pPBUH) migrated from Mecca to Madina in 622. This city was initially settled by jewish, 2 groups name comes on top for taking part in settling this i.e. Banu Quraia and Banu Nadir, before madina this city name was Yathrib. Madina city gained huge importance after the migration of Prophet (pbuh). First mosque in the Islamic history was built in Madina by Prophet (PBUH) name Masjid-e-Nabvi. Madina was the favourite city of Prophet (PBUH), every year many worshippers and pilgrims visited to madina. Madina city is very close to every Muslims heart because this is the place where Prophet (PBUH) spent his last days and it’s the burial place.

There are so many historical places located in madina, here are historical places of madina;

  • Masjid-e-Nabvi: The most important place is Masjid-e-Nabvi, the oldest mosque it is also known as Roza-e-Rasool.
  • Janna-tul-baqi: This is the graveyard where many of Prophet (PBUH) companions, close relatives are buried.
  • Masjid-e-Jummah: This mosque has a great significance because Prophet (PBUH) led the first namaz e jummah.
  • Masjid-e-Quba: Quba is the place where prophet (PBUH) stayed after migrating from Mecca, Masjid e quba is the first mosque that was build in Islam.
  • Masjid-e -Ghamama: this mosque has a special significance because our Prophet (PBUH) performed namaze Eid in his last years of life. This mosque is also known as Masjide Eid.
  • Masjid-e-Umar: This mosque is located close to Masjide Ghamama.
  • Masjid-e-Qiblatain: This is the place where Prophet (PBUH) lead muslim to change the Qibla.
  • Jabal-e-Uhud: on this place second battle was held between meccans and Muslims
  • Jabl-e-ayr: Prophet (pbuh) called this mountain of hell and this is the 2nd largest mountain in madina.
  • Masjid-e-Fath: This place has a significane because here ALLAH glad Prophet (PBUH) with the great victory in battle with meccans. This mosque is also known as Al-Ahzab mosque.
  • Salman Farsi’s garden: this is the garden where to free Salman farsi, Prophet (PBUH) planted about 300 date palms. This garden is located near to masjid-e-Quba.
  • Graveyard of Uhud martyrs: In this graveyard the martyres of Uhud are buried.
  • Masjid-e-Sabaq: It is the place where the horses of Prophet (PBUH) horses were trained for fighting.

These were some major and important places located in madina except of this there are so many other places to visit.
